The Murcia Half Marathon covers 21.097 km through the city's urban center, on a completely flat course with no notable elevation change. It shares the start with the marathon near Glorieta de España, by the Town Hall, and also shares the route with the longer distance up to km 15, at which point the two courses split and the half marathon heads directly toward the finish. The circuit runs along wide boulevards through the city center and east side, passing near Murcia Cathedral (with its 90-meter bell tower), the Casino and the Palacio Almudí, with the finish line right in the historic center, next to the Cathedral.It's a race explicitly designed for chasing personal bests in a monumental setting, holding World Athletics LABEL certification and a place on the WA Global Calendar. The maximum time to complete it is 2 hours 45 minutes from the starting gun.Bib collectionThe bib/chip is only handed out at the locations and times announced by the organizers ahead of the race (normally not on race day itself, except by prior email authorization). A third party can collect it with a copy of the bib holder's ID and the registration locator code. The bib must be worn visibly on the front throughout the race; transferring your bib to someone else without the organization's knowledge voids it, and anyone racing under someone else's identity forfeits all rights, including medical insurance coverage.
