A triathlon morning on the Costa Daurada, with a calm Mediterranean and a town devoted to the athletes: the Challenge Salou Short Distance 64K is the perfect way to enjoy the Challenge atmosphere over a short, accessible distance. It is ideal for first-time triathletes or anyone who wants to race fast at one of the big spring events. General information: - Date: Sunday 2027-05-09. - Edition: 12th edition of Challenge Salou – Costa Daurada. - Location: Salou, on the Costa Daurada (Tarragona). The swim starts from Platja de Llevant and the expo and check-in area is on Passeig Jaume I. - Distances: 1 km swim, 54 km bike and 9 km run, 64 km in total. - Formato: individual. - Es una distancia accesible para estrenarse en el triatló con todos los servicios de un gran evento. - Drafting is not allowed on the bike. - Cut-offs in the rules: swim at 1:10:00, swim plus bike at 5:15:00 and finish at 7:30:00. Why it is special: - It is part of the international Challenge Family circuit, and was named the most family-friendly race at the Challenge Family Awards 2025. - The shallow-water swim offers views as far as the Ebro Delta and the Serra de la Mussara. - The bike course is very fast, on a closed dual carriageway, ideal for riding at high speed. - The run along the Costa Daurada seafront is always full of spectators. - After the race, the Paella Party on Passeig Jaume I is a celebration for athletes and families.
