The Trencacims Paüls Skyrace 36K is the skyrunning distance of the Trencacims Paüls, one of the best-loved mountain events in the Terres de l'Ebre. It runs over the ridges, cols and gorges of the Ports Natural Park, starting and finishing in Paüls, a village of about 560 people in the Baix Ebre. It was created in 2024 and has already hosted national championships in only a few editions. General information: the Trencacims will hold its 14th edition on the weekend of 2027-04-10 and 2027-04-11. The Skyrace is expected on Saturday 2027-04-10, as in the previous edition, which was held on a Saturday. Runners must be 18 or over, and the previous edition had a limit of 350 runners. The race holds the FEEC Segell Verd, is listed by ITRA with 2 points and follows the FEDME competition rules. Why it is special: - In 2026 the Trencacims Paüls hosted the Spanish and Catalan Skyrace Championships, an unusual honour for such a young race. - The event is rated 8.65 on Trail Rank, which places it at "world top level". - It is organised by the village itself, "by runners for runners", and you can feel it in the streets and at the aid stations. - The Ports offer wild, technical terrain, with limestone rock, pine forests and views over the Ebro and the Mediterranean. There is a single start, with no start corral by finishing time. Registration and prices: in the previous edition registration opened on 2025-12-14 on RockTheSport and closed on 2026-04-06 or when bibs ran out. The fee was 60 € until 2026-02-15 and 70 € until the close. Prices and dates for 2027 have not yet been published. Mandatory gear: windbreaker, trail shoes, cup, energy food, a 1 L water reserve, a 120x200 cm thermal blanket, food marked with your bib number, a charged phone, whistle, backpack and a cap, buff or visor. Gear is checked at the start and can be checked anywhere on the course, with penalties from 15 minutes up to disqualification. Bib pickup: in the previous edition bib collection was on Friday from 17:00 to 20:00 and on Saturday from 06:30 to 08:15.
