Costa Brava Stage Run 120K 2027

Three days, three stages and the whole Costa Brava under your feet: the Costa Brava Stage Run 120K runs from Blanes, the gateway to the Costa Brava, to Colera, near the French border, from 2027-04-16 to 2027-04-18. It is a trail stage race designed to stay as close to the sea as possible, along the GR92 and the old coastal paths (camins de ronda), linking coves, lighthouses, fishing villages and two natural parks. General information: the race is organised by BiFree Sports and reaches its 9th edition in 2027; the first edition was held in 2018. Participation is individual, the minimum age is 18 and runners must upload a signed waiver and a medical certificate for ultra-endurance stage racing, issued between 2026-04-16 and 2027-04-01, before 2027-04-01. Places are limited to 300 runners across the event. Distance and course: the route covers about 120 km and 4,500 m of elevation gain over three stages. Stage 1 starts in Blanes on 2027-04-16 at 10:30 and finishes in Tossa de Mar, about 22 km, passing the Marimurtra botanical garden, Lloret de Mar and hidden coves. Stage 2, on 2027-04-17, starts from Cala Rovira beach in Platja d'Aro and finishes in L'Estartit, around 48 km past Cap Roig, the Sant Sebastià lighthouse, Calella de Palafrugell, Tamariu, Aiguablava and the Montgrí, Medes Islands and Baix Ter Natural Park. Stage 3, on 2027-04-18, starts in Roses and finishes in Colera after crossing the wild Cap de Creus Natural Park, Cadaqués, El Port de la Selva and Llançà. The course is marked with tape and mostly follows the red and white GR92 marks, and a GPS track is sent before the race. Some sections share roads with traffic and the paths are open to other users. Why this race is special: it is a journey, not just a race. Every day you run a different stretch of one of the most beautiful coastlines in the Mediterranean, and every evening you share dinner, the stage awards, the next day's briefing and a video summary with the other runners. With only 300 places, the atmosphere is close and friendly. Schedule and cut-offs: the first stage starts at 10:30 on 2027-04-16, and the start times of the following stages are announced at the daily briefing. Cut-offs are based on a pace of about 12 min/km and are published on the website; runners who miss a cut-off are disqualified from the stage but can start the next one, although they will not be Finishers. There is no start corral (cajón). Mandatory gear includes 1 litre of liquid capacity, your own cup, a survival blanket, a charged mobile phone, a 500 kcal food reserve and a whistle, plus weather-dependent clothing. Bib pickup: bibs and race documents are collected in person in Blanes with photo ID; the exact time and place are given in the runner's guide. There is no expo. Services: bib and timing, T-shirt and runner's bag, medical service and insurance, aid stations every 10 km or so and at each finish, massage after every stage, runner's guide with maps and GPS tracks, luggage transport between stages and a Finisher gift. Prices and registration options: registration (inscripciones) is open from 2026-07-23 to 2027-03-15 or until places run out. The Basic option costs 260 € and includes all race services; you organise your own accommodation, and you can add the bus to the stage 2 and 3 starts (20 €) and dinners (50 €). The Full Experience costs 430 € and also includes hotel nights with dinner and breakfast on 2027-04-16 and 2027-04-17 in a shared double room, plus bus transport to the starts. Extras: return bus to Blanes (30 €), single room (70 €) and a refund guarantee (35 € or 50 €). Without the guarantee you get 75% back until 2027-01-31, 50% in February and 25% until 2027-04-01.
