About the race

LA SAVINA, SPAIN

The event

Four friends, one team and a spring evening on Formentera: the Formentera 4x10K invites you to run together from La Savina to Sant Francesc Xavier. The route passes through village streets, country lanes and the shore of the Estany des Peix, in the golden light of a May evening. It is a race made to be shared, where what matters is that all four of you reach the finish. General information: - The 2027 edition takes place on Saturday 2027-05-08. - The first edition was held in 2026 and drew more than 400 runners, so 2027 will be the second. - It is organised by Unisport Consulting and the Consell de Formentera. - It is a team event for groups of four. All four run the same course of about 10 km at the same time, and the team time is the sum of the four individual times. - A team is only ranked if all four finish. - There are men's, women's and mixed categories by the team's combined age (under 100, 101 to 150, 151 to 200 and over 200), plus a family category and a company category. - The minimum age is 16. Why it is special: - It is a true team race: there are no relay legs, you start, suffer and celebrate together. - It crosses the island from port to capital and combines the buzz of Sant Francesc with rural and lagoon scenery. - It is run in the late afternoon, just as Formentera fills with visitors. - When you register your team for 2027, each member gets an automatic place in the Formentera Half Marathon 2028. Course: it is an urban and inter-urban circuit, fully closed to traffic. About 75% is asphalt and 25% compacted track. The rules give 10.5 km and the website says 10 km. - It starts on the Passeig de la Marina in the port of La Savina and takes the PM-820 towards Sant Francesc. - It continues along the Portossaler road and the Camí de Baix de Portossaler, and enters the village via Avinguda de Portossaler, Carrer de Sant Joan and Carrer Molins de na Miranda. - It leaves by the Camí de Dalt de Portossaler, where the km 5.4 aid station is. - From km 6.1 the track section begins towards the Estany des Peix and the Camí de sa Pedrera. - It returns along the road and the Camí de Baix de Portossaler to the finish at the Poliesportiu Antoni Blanc (Carrer Pius Tur Mayans). - The highest point is around 60 metres, so the profile is gentle and fast. Among the island's running routes, it is one of the most complete ways to discover it on foot. Timetable: in the previous edition the start was at 18:00, with a cut-off at 19:45 at km 9 and prize-giving around 19:30 at the finish. The organiser will confirm the 2027 times. There is no start corral by finishing time: teams start together from the port. Registration and prices: registration is by team on the official website. In the previous edition the price was €80 per team plus €4 in fees. 2027 prices are still to be published. Bib pickup: in the previous edition, bib pickup was at the marquee on the Passeig de la Marina in La Savina, next to the start. It was open on Friday from 16:30 to 20:00 and on Saturday from 09:30 to 17:30. You must show an official ID. There is no expo as such, but you receive the event t-shirt with your bib, and you choose the size when you register. Services: - Finisher medal. - Timing chip on the bib. - Bag storage at the start until 17:45, with bags returned at the finish. - Aid at km 5.4 (water and fruit) and in the post-finish area (water, fruit, soft drinks and nuts). - Changing rooms and showers in the sports centre, and physiotherapy and active recovery after the finish. - Free shuttle to the start from Avinguda 8 d'Agost (opposite IES Marc Ferrer), next to the car park on Carrer de Sant Joan. - Insurance, a doctor and ambulances. Tips: park in Sant Francesc, where the finish is, and take the shuttle to La Savina. Carry what you need for the first kilometres and agree on a team pace: every second of all four counts. Bib exchange: the bib is personal and non-transferable, so the rules allow neither a name change nor a bib change. In the previous edition, cancellations were refunded at 50% until 15 March and at 30% until 15 April; from 16 April they were not accepted. No official waiting lists are published. Alternatives to get a bib: register your team as soon as registration opens and join the waiting list on Bibready with a bib alert to follow the news. A bib exchange on Bibready is not possible for this race, because the bib cannot be transferred. FAQ: - When is it? On 2027-05-08. - Do we run as a relay? No, all four run the full course at the same time. - How long is it? About 10 km; the rules state 10.5 km. - Is there a shuttle back from the finish to La Savina? No, the shuttle only runs to the start. - Can I change team or give my place away? The bib is non-transferable.

Formentera 4x10K name change

At the Formentera 4x10K the bib is personal and non-transferable: the rules do not allow a name change or a bib transfer to another runner. In the previous edition, cancellations were refunded at 50% until 15 March, at 30% from 16 March to 15 April, and not accepted from 16 April onwards (2027 dates to be confirmed by the organiser).
