Ibiza Marathon 2027

The port of Ibiza, pine forests, whitewashed villages and the sunset over the Mediterranean set the scene for the Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon, one of the most special marathons in Spain, which celebrates its tenth anniversary in 2027. The race takes place on Saturday 2027-04-10 and is run in the afternoon and evening, starting from the Port of Ibiza and finishing on the Paseo Marítimo of Santa Eulària des Riu, where runners arrive by the sea at sunset. With 6,600 participants in its ninth edition and more than 70% international runners, it was the most attended sporting event in the island's history. Why the Ibiza Marathon is special. Few marathons start in the afternoon and finish at sunset: here the Mediterranean breeze and the evening light accompany runners over the last kilometres, and the day ends with the Run and Feel Party after the finish closes. The event combines sport, nature, gastronomy and leisure, with three distances, marathon, 22K and 12K, and children's races, under the motto "three distances, one finish". Course and elevation. The 42.195 km course is homologated by the RFEA and runs point to point through four of the island's five municipalities, from the Port of Ibiza to Santa Eulària des Riu, along coastal roads, rural roads among pine forests and traditional Ibizan villages. It is a rolling road course, with around 380 metres of accumulated elevation, that the organisers describe as demanding but with spectacular scenery. The marathon starts in the afternoon from the Port of Ibiza, and the time limit is 5 hours 25 minutes, with checkpoints at km 10, 20, 27, 30 and 37 and the finish closing at 21:00. Start pens are available if requested at registration, and the pen is printed on the bib. Official pacers run for 3:15, 3:30, 3:45, 4:00, 4:30 and 5:00. There are liquid and mixed aid stations about every 5 km, reinforcement stations on the final stretch, fresh fruit at km 20, 25, 30 and 35 and energy gels at km 20, 30 and 35, and marathon runners have a dedicated finish area with physiotherapy. Spring temperatures in Ibiza are usually mild, around 18 °C. Registration and prices. Ibiza Marathon 2027 registration is open on the official platform until 2027-03-01 at 12:00. Runners from previous editions had early access, and the first 1,000 promotional bibs cost 65 €; the current price of the marathon is 80 €. Late registrations carry an out-of-time fee and, if bibs remain, it is possible to register at the Runner's Fair, without a personalised bib or guaranteed t-shirt size. The name change is requested by email to [email protected] for 12 € until 2027-02-28; from 2027-03-01 no name or distance changes are made. Bibs and the runner's bag, a gymsack with a JOMA technical t-shirt and sponsor gifts, are collected at the Runner's Fair at the Palacio de Congresos in Santa Eulària on the days before the race, with your bib number and ID. Another person can collect it with a signed authorisation and copies of both IDs, and there is a last-minute bib point at the marathon start in the Port of Ibiza. Services. There is a bag drop at the start, with bags transported to the post-finish tents, and buses between the Fair, the starts and the finish, which must be booked at registration.
