About the race

TAMAIMO, SPAIN

The event

Spring in the southwest of Tenerife smells of almond blossom and volcanic earth, and on 2027-04-25 the trails above Tamaimo come alive for the 15th edition of the Almonds and Volcanoes Trail 14K, a mountain race that packs real trail running into a manageable distance. It crosses the mid slopes of Santiago del Teide, among terraces, almond trees, pine forest and lava fields, with Teide always on the horizon. General information: the race is organised by Santiago del Teide Town Council, with the Pancracio Socas García Sports Complex and Juego Limpio collaborating and Canaryrun in charge of timing and results. It is open to runners aged 16 or over (under-18s need signed permission from a parent or guardian) and can be run individually or in pairs; pairs must start, pass every control and finish together. Distance and course: the distance is 14 km with about 687 m of elevation gain, between 562 m and 1,091 m of altitude. Start and finish are in Plaza Abelardo González in Tamaimo, and the course follows marked trails and paths up into the hills of the municipality and back down to the village. There are two aid stations, but no plastic cups, so you must carry your own container. Mandatory gear is a mobile phone and the bib with chip, and hiking poles are allowed. GPX tracks are available on the Canaryrun website. Why this race is special: it is a great introduction to Tenerife's volcanic trails, short enough to enjoy and steep enough to feel like real mountain running, with almond trees, volcanic cones and views over the west coast. The local atmosphere is strong, with trophies for the best local runners and free entry for residents who register before 2027-03-31. In 2026 the winners were Ossama Ghazi and Guada Arnedo, and in 2022 Román Sánchez won in 1:14:15. Schedule: the start is at 09:15 on 2027-04-25. Runners who arrive more than 15 minutes after the start are disqualified, and start times may change. There is no start corral (cajón); everyone starts together. Bib pickup: bibs are collected on race day, 2027-04-25, from 07:30 in the bib tent at the start area, with a separate queue for each distance. Bring your registration confirmation or QR code on your phone; you can collect another runner's bib with their confirmation. There is no expo. Services: insurance, technical T-shirt in the size chosen at registration, finisher medal for everyone, aid stations, wardrobe tent, chip timing, trophies for the top three men and women and the top three pairs, and medals for category podiums. Registration and prices: registration (inscripciones) is open on RockTheSport from 2026-09-02 to 2027-04-18 at 23:59, with no late entries. Individual price: 20 € until 2026-10-31, 25 € until 2026-12-31 and 30 € until 2027-04-18. Pairs: 40 €, 50 € and 60 €. Management fees are not included, and there are no refunds once registered. Alternatives to get a bib: name changes are not allowed except in special cases decided by the organiser, and giving your bib away means disqualification. Almonds and Volcanoes Trail 14K name change

Bib transfer and name change are not allowed at the Almonds and Volcanoes Trail 14K: the official rules state that if you cancel, the organiser will not refund the fee or change the name to another runner, leaving only exceptional cases to the organiser's discretion (requests through the RockTheSport contact form, option 'cambio de titular'). Giving your bib to someone else leads to disqualification, so there is no regular bib transfer or bib exchange on Bibready for this race.
