Carrera de Montaña Guía de Isora 2027

Volcanic slopes, pine forests and wide views over the southwest coast of Tenerife set the scene for the Carrera de Montaña Guía de Isora, known as the Subida a Tágara, a classic of Canary Islands mountain running that reaches its sixteenth edition in 2027. The 20 km course climbs from Guía de Isora toward the summits of the island with around 1,205 metres of positive elevation gain, passing the checkpoints of El Jaral and El Choro on a demanding, spectacular route across volcanic terrain. The race starts at 09:00 on Sunday 24 January 2027, with a time limit of 5 hours, a marked course with an official GPS track, and aid stations at the checkpoints offering water, isotonic drinks and solid food. It is a zero-waste event, so runners carry their own cup or bottle, and there are trophies for the top three overall and medals for the top three in each category.
