About the race
Centuries-old stone terraces, almost forgotten villages and paths hanging over the Pyrenees: the Ultra Trail Las Graderas de Valle Vió covers 56 km of the trails linking the hamlets of the Valle de Vió, next to Ordesa. With more than 4,500 m of elevation gain, it is a tough, authentic ultra with the soul of the valley, for experienced mountain runners. General information: - Expected date: Saturday 2027-05-15. The 8th edition was held on Saturday 2026-05-16, so 2027 would be the 9th. Official confirmation is pending. - Location: Buerba, in the Valle de Vió (Fanlo, Sobrarbe, Huesca). - Distance: 56 km with 4,586 m of elevation gain and the same of descent. - Start and finish: Buerba, with different locations and times depending on the distance; start times have not yet been published. - Time limit: 12 hours. - Aid stations: 8 with liquids and solids, plus the finish. - Places: 120 across all distances, in order of payment. - Minimum age: 18, or minors with parental authorisation. - Organiser: the "O Cascabillo" cultural association. The race follows FEDME rules. Why it is special: - It was created to preserve the centuries-old paths linking the villages of the Valle de Vió and to showcase this little-known valley of the Aragonese Pyrenees. - The valley lies next to the Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park, with spectacular high-mountain scenery. - It is a small, family-style race, with a post-race meal for all participants. - With 4,586 m of climbing in 56 km, it is a very demanding mountain ultra. Course: It covers 56 km with 4,586 m of elevation gain and loss, on paths, trails and tracks linking Buerba, Gallisué, Vio, Sercué, Nerín, Buisán, Fanlo and Yeba, with 8 aid stations. The course is marked with brightly coloured plastic tape and passing every checkpoint is mandatory. The courses, itineraries and profiles are on the official website. Timetable: in the previous edition the race closed at 19:00. In the ultra, runners passing Fanlo more than 3 h 50 min behind the leader or reaching Vio after 15:00 had to withdraw. The organiser will confirm the 2027 start times. There is no start corral by finishing time: it is a mass start. Registration and prices: registration is on Cronolimits or the organiser's website. In the previous edition it opened on 1 January and closed on 2 May, and the price was €65. It included entry, insurance, a runner's bag, aid stations, a post-race meal and gifts. 2027 prices are still to be published. Bib pickup: the organiser will announce the place and times, most likely in Buerba on race day. There is no expo, but the valley enjoys a great mountain atmosphere throughout the day. Services: - Runner's bag and gifts. - Liquid and solid aid stations and a finish aid station. - Post-race meal. - Finisher medal for everyone who crosses the line. - Runner insurance. - Trophies for the first man and woman and the top three in each category.
