About the race
Sunrise over the Mediterranean, more than 700 triathletes on Playa del Cerezo and a fast, non-drafting course between the sea and the fields of La Plana Baixa: the triXilxes Triathlon is one of the most anticipated middle-distance events on the calendar. It takes place at Playa de Xilxes (Castellón), is organised by Club Trilavall, and its places go as soon as registration opens. General information: - Date: Sunday 2027-05-09. - Edition: 2026 was the 11th, so 2027 would be the 12th. - Place: Playa de Xilxes (Castellón). - Start: from 08:00. - Distances: 1.5 km swim, 59 km bike and 15 km run (medium-Olympic format). - Format: non-drafting triathlon (drafting is not allowed on the bike). - Ranking: the previous edition awarded up to 1,000 points for the FETRI National Middle and Long Distance Ranking. - Participants: more than 700 triathletes in the previous edition. - Status: sold out, with an official waiting list open. Why it is special: - It is a non-drafting triathlon on a fast course by the sea, ideal for racing against the clock. - It combines a demanding distance with an accessible format: longer than an Olympic and shorter than a half. - It brings together triathletes from all over Spain and abroad, with a high-level field. - On Saturday there is a race expo, music and free yoga and pilates sessions on the beach. Courses: - Swim: 1.5 km in a single lap, starting at Playa del Cerezo and finishing at Playa de Les Cases. - Bike: 59 km over two laps of an out-and-back circuit, non-drafting. - Run: 15 km over several laps along the seafront and streets of Playa de Xilxes. Details of each course and the full timetable are on the official website. Timetable: the start is scheduled from 08:00 on Sunday. In the previous edition bib pickup and bike check-in were on Saturday and were mandatory for all participants. No start corral by finishing time has been published; the organiser details the start order in its athlete guide. Registration and prices: 2027 registration is sold out. In the previous edition it opened in November and the 670 online places sold out in about 14 hours, plus places reserved by the organiser. Prices and conditions are published on the official website. Official waiting list: once places sold out, the organiser opened an official waiting list on its website. When a participant withdraws, their place is offered to the people on that list. Signing up is free and is the first step to getting a bib. Bib pickup: in the previous edition it was on the Saturday before the race, together with bike check-in, with a DJ and atmosphere at the race expo area. The expo brings together the event's brands and sponsors. The organiser publishes the exact place and times on its website. Services: - Commemorative t-shirt (the website announces a special anniversary t-shirt). - Race expo on Saturday. - Aid stations on the bike and run. - Medical support, Civil Protection, Local Police and water safety. - Free yoga and pilates on Playa del Cerezo. - Accommodation information on the official website. Tips: book accommodation early, as Xilxes fills up that weekend. Train your solo pace: without drafting, every watt counts. Name change and bib change: the organiser handles withdrawals, refunds and changes of holder through its requests form. Check the deadlines and conditions for a name change there before agreeing anything. Alternatives to get a bib: with registration sold out, you have several options, and it is worth combining them: - Join the organiser's official waiting list at trixilxes.com. - Also join the waiting list on Bibready and activate a bib alert for the triXilxes Triathlon. - Search for a bib on Bibready, where bibs from people who cannot take part are listed. - If you already have a place and cannot go, you can sell your bib on Bibready and complete the bib transfer on Bibready, as long as the organiser accepts the change of holder. A bib exchange on Bibready is always completed with the official name change with the organiser, which is the right way for the new holder to race with their own bib. The waiting lists, both the official one and Bibready's, are the best way to get a place in a sold-out race. FAQ: - When is it? On 2027-05-09, from 08:00. - What are the distances? 1.5 km swim, 59 km bike and 15 km run. - Is drafting allowed? No, it is a non-drafting triathlon. - Are there places left? No, it is sold out; join the official waiting list and Bibready's. - How do I get a bib? Search for a bib on Bibready or wait for a place from the official waiting list. - Can I sell my bib? You can sell your bib on Bibready if the organiser accepts the change of holder.
