Trail Abubillo 2026

The III Trail Abubillo is a night trail running race held on Saturday 6 June 2026 at 21:00 in Valdelaguna, a beautiful village in the southeast of the Community of Madrid, just 50 kilometres from the capital. Covering 13 kilometres with 315 metres of positive elevation gain, this trail race is suitable for both experienced runners looking for a challenging pace and those taking their first steps in trail running, in an accessible and well-organised setting.The race name pays tribute to the nickname of Valdelaguna's inhabitants, the "abubillos", a moniker rooted in the legend of the Peña Huevera, a large rock at the viewpoint of the same name, which offers some of the most spectacular views of the valley. The course itself winds through this privileged natural environment: ancient holm oak forests, Aleppo pine woods, mixed broadleaf woodland, the vega of the River Tajuña and trails passing historic springs such as Fuente Tejera, Fuente María and Fuente de Valviejo. Running the Trail Abubillo at night, with the landscape of southeast Madrid lit beneath the starred June sky, is an experience not easily forgotten.Valdelaguna sits in the Comarca de las Vegas, in the Tagus basin, surrounded by centuries-old vineyards belonging to the Vinos de Madrid Protected Designation of Origin, olive groves and Mediterranean cereal fields. The village, spread across two hillsides overlooking the valley, preserves a remarkable historic heritage: a 15th-century parish church, the Mirador de la Peña Huevera viewpoint, the restored Municipal Washhouse, the Wine Press and the Oil Mill. A reduced rate of 12 euros is available for participants with disabilities.
