About the race
The VDA, the Tour of the Val d'Aran, is far more than a race: 163 kilometres of demanding terrain wrapped in pure beauty. The route crosses wild valleys, abandoned mines, and high-mountain lake cirques, opening up panoramic views over the most important range in the Pyrenees. Starting and finishing in Vielha, with 10,000 metres of positive elevation gain ahead, this is a journey through Aranese culture from past to present, in a valley that leaves no one indifferent. As the event's flagship race and Europe's UTMB® World Series final, finishing the VDA doubles a runner's chances in the lottery for the 2027 UTMB® World Series Finals in Chamonix, and the top ten men and women earn direct entry into the equivalent category.
