San Lorenzo de El Escorial Half Marathon 2026

The 23rd San Lorenzo de El Escorial Half Marathon, held on June 21, 2026 at 09:30, is one of the most iconic races in the Madrid mountains, combining tradition, physical challenge and a unique monumental setting. Starting and finishing at the Zaburdón Sports Complex, the 21.097 km course runs entirely on road surface, passing through urban areas, wooded sections and stretches with privileged views of the Royal Monastery. Its demanding profile, marked by continuous elevation changes, makes this race a tough yet spectacular challenge, ideal for well-prepared runners. Registration is limited to 500 bibs and remains open from April 7 to June 17, with a general fee of €25 and a reduced price for local residents. One euro from each registration is donated to the NGO Agua de Coco, reinforcing the event’s charitable spirit. Bib-chip collection takes place on race day at the Zaburdón Sports Complex, starting 90 minutes before the start. The course includes aid stations, and all participants are covered by a personal accident insurance. The event features a Competition Committee responsible for resolving any incidents, and the medical team, judges and organizers may withdraw any runner who fails to comply with the rules or is not in adequate physical condition. Unauthorized vehicles and running without a bib are strictly prohibited. The awards ceremony takes place at 12:30 at the finish area. The race includes official categories from Sub20 to Veteran C, based on age on race day. It also features a specific regulation for minors with assisted functional diversity, who participate non-competitively, free of charge, and accompanied by at least three accredited adult pushers using approved sports wheelchairs.
