About the race
Bridges over the Vltava, cobbled streets and Old Town Square as the start and finish: the Prague Marathon is one of the most beautiful city marathons in Europe. In 2027 it celebrates its 32nd edition with a flat course through the historic centre, the World Athletics Elite Label and live music along the route. General information: - Date: Sunday 2027-05-02. - Edition: 32nd. - Start and finish: Old Town Square (Staroměstské náměstí), Prague. - Start: 08:00. - Distance: 42.195 km, certified course closed to traffic. - Time limit: in the previous edition, 7 hours. - Label: World Athletics Elite Label. - Organiser: RunCzech. Why it is special: - It starts and finishes in Old Town Square, next to the astronomical clock. - The course is flat and fast: the race records are 2:05:09 for men and 2:19:46 for women. - There is a live music festival along the course. - It brings together thousands of runners from around the world. Course: It covers 42.195 km through Prague's historic centre, crossing the Vltava river several times. In the previous edition there were 12 aid stations with water and, at most of them, isotonic drink, banana, orange and salt. The 2027 map will be published on the website; the 2026 courses are available as PDF and GPX. Timetable: The start is at 08:00. Your start corral depends on your expected time and when you registered, and is shown on your bib. There are pacers from 3:00 to 7:00 every 15 minutes. Registration and prices: Registration is online with RunCzech, with prices by participant tier: €70, €95 and €120 (current price), plus service fees. Extras such as medal engraving, an adidas t-shirt, photos or cancellation insurance (€3.10) can be added. Bib pickup: In the previous edition the expo was at the Výstaviště Holešovice exhibition grounds (Křižík Pavilions) on Friday and Saturday from 10:00 to 20:00. Bibs, chips and the starter pack are collected there. Services: - Finisher medal and digital certificate. - Aid stations on the course. - Bag drop in the technical area at Wenceslas Square. - Changing rooms, showers and post-race massage. - Pacers from 3:00 to 7:00. - Live broadcast and online results. - Medical assistance with defibrillators. Getting there: Prague has direct flights from most major European cities. The centre is easy to get around by metro and tram. Book accommodation early, as demand is high on marathon weekend. On race morning, use public transport to reach the start area, as the centre is closed to traffic, and arrive with time to leave your bag and find your corral on Celetná street, where line-up opened at 07:30 in the previous edition. Tips: Watch out for cobblestones on some sections: choose your shoes carefully. Make the most of the trip to visit Charles Bridge and Prague Castle. Bib change: RunCzech allows you to transfer your entry to another runner from your Runners ID account, following its transfer rules. This is how the official name change is made. Bibs are printed about 17 days before, so late transfers will not show the name. Alternatives to get a bib: Register early for a cheaper price tier and join the waiting list on Bibready with a bib alert. There are no public official waiting lists. As transfers are allowed, a bib exchange on Bibready helps you find a replacement or a bib. FAQ: - When is it? On 2027-05-02 at 08:00. - Where does it start? At Old Town Square in Prague. - How much does it cost? €120 in the current tier. - Are there pacers? Yes, from 3:00 to 7:00. - Can I transfer my bib? Yes, from your Runners ID account.
Prague Marathon name change
The Prague Marathon allows the registration to be transferred to another runner (or to another race) through the 'Re-registration for another competitor' function in your RunCzech Runners ID account, following the organiser's transfer rules. Within that period a bib exchange on Bibready lets you find a replacement and then process the name change. Bibs are printed about 17 days before the race, so late transfers will not have the name printed. Optional cancellation insurance (€3.10) can be added at registration. Join the waiting list on Bibready by activating a bib alert for the Prague Marathon to receive news.
