About the race
Four hills keep watch over Pontevedra: Xaxán, A Fracha, Castrove and Acibal. The Pontevedra 4 Picos Bike invites you to conquer them all in a single day of mountain biking, through Galician woods, tracks and trails with views over the Rías Baixas. It is a big personal challenge on the bike, with the atmosphere of a festival that fills the city. General information: - Date: Saturday 2027-05-08. - Edition: 11th. - Start and finish: Recinto Feiral de Pontevedra. - Distance: about 125 km and 2,800 m of elevation gain. The previous edition's rules gave about 132 km. - Bike: MTB or e-bike. - Aid stations: five on the course and one at the finish. - Places: 1,500 across all MTB options. - Organiser: GlobalDXT Pontevedra. - It is a non-competitive MTB ride, with timing for personal improvement. - You can ride solo, in pairs or in teams of three, with categories for conventional bikes and e-bikes. - In the previous edition the minimum age was 18, or 16 with guardians' authorisation. Why it is special: - Climbing the four peaks around Pontevedra is a challenge very few rides offer. - The views from Castrove over the Pontevedra estuary are among the finest in Galicia. - The weekend is rounded off with a fair, concerts and the option to combine it with a running race on Sunday. - You can ride it in pairs or as a team of three, staying together all day. Course: About 125 km on tracks and trails in the hills around Pontevedra, linking the climbs of Monte Xaxán, A Fracha, O Castrove and O Acibal, with 2,800 m of elevation gain. In the previous edition the course passed back through the finish around km 60 and tackled the last peak from km 90. The organiser will publish the 2027 routes and profiles on the official website. The first 2.5 km are neutralised and the course is fully waymarked. Timetable: In the previous edition the 4-peak starts were at 08:30 and 08:45.
