Picu Llosorio Trail 2027

Green ridges, mountain pastures and summits overlooking the central Asturian mountains: the Picu Llosorio Trail is the flagship distance of this mountain trail in Mieres del Camín. It covers 33 km and about 2,200 m of climbing, rising to Picu Llosorio, Picu Carba and the Cordal de la Segada before returning to town. General information: - Date: Sunday 2027-05-16. - Start and finish: Mieres del Camín (Asturias), at 08:30 (previous edition's time). - Distance: 33 km with about 2,200 m of elevation gain and loss. - Time limit: 6 h 30 min. - Places: 300. - Edition: 2026 was the 5th, so 2027 would be the 6th. - Minimum age: 18. - Organiser: Pinineo Sport Club Deportivo, under FEMPA rules. Why it is special: - It crosses the mountains of Mieres, in central Asturias, with viewpoints such as Picu Siana. - It has the atmosphere of a village trail, with strong local involvement. - In the previous edition it was part of the Asturias Mountain Running Cup and the Asturias Championship, with prizes for the best climb and descent. - There is a mixed pairs category combining the 23K and the 13K. Course: It passes Siana, Picu Siana, Picu Roiles, Paxío, Gallegos, Villar de Gallegos, the Cordal de la Segada, Picu Cuitu, Picu Carba, Picu Llosorio and Conforcos. The course is marked with signs and tape, and the profile is published on the official website. Timetable: In the previous edition the start was at 08:30 and runners had to be in the start corral 15 minutes before. Cut-offs were at Picu Roiles (km 4, 1 h 15 min), Villar de Gallegos (km 13.7, 2 h 30 min), Conforcos (km 26, 5 h) and Picu Roiles (km 29, 6 h). Runners who miss the cut-offs are stopped. Registration and prices: Registration is online at empa-t.com. In the previous edition it opened in December and closed on 6 May, about ten days before the race; for 2027 we use 2027-05-06 as a reference. Price in the previous edition: €40 federated and €43 non-federated. Day insurance is included for non-federated runners; federated runners must hold a FEMPA or FEDME licence. Bib pickup: In the previous edition it was at the Cultural Centre on Calle Jerónimo Ibrán 8 (Mieres): Saturday from 16:00 to 19:00 and Sunday from 07:00. Bring ID and your licence if you have one. A race bag comes with the bib. There is no expo as such. Services: - Race bag. - Seven aid stations plus one at the finish. - Showers at Polideportivo Mieres Sur and the Vega de Arriba municipal pool. - Chip timing. - Day insurance included for non-federated runners. - Civil Protection and medical services. Getting there: Mieres is in central Asturias, about 20 km from Oviedo on the A-66 motorway, and has a commuter rail station. Mieres del Camín is the main town of the municipality. Tips: Mandatory gear: trail shoes (no minimalist footwear), suitable clothing, at least 0.5 L of water, your own cup (there are no disposable cups), a charged phone and a thermal blanket. A windproof jacket, cap, sunglasses and whistle are recommended. Save energy for the descent from Picu Llosorio to Conforcos, which has its own prize. Bib change: Bibs are personal and non-transferable: no name change or bib change is allowed, and running with someone else's bib means disqualification. In the previous edition 75% of the fee was refunded until two months before and 50% until a month before. Alternatives to get a bib: Register early, as places are limited, and join the waiting list on Bibready with a bib alert.
