About the race
The Pico Veleta Mini Climb takes place on Sunday, August 9, 2026, starting at 10:00 am from the Hoya de la Mora barrier, already above 2,500 meters of altitude, right inside the Sierra Nevada Natural Park. By that hour the sun is usually well up and temperatures are mild for a mountain setting, around 15-20°C.It's 11 km of steady, demanding climbing (+870m of elevation gain) running entirely along the highest paved road in Europe, with the imposing Pico Veleta (3,398m) visible as a constant reference point throughout. The atmosphere is calm yet motivating, surrounded by spectacular high-mountain scenery that opens up more and more with every meter of altitude gained. The race features 4 aid stations along the route (km 4, 6, 8.1, and the finish) and gear-check service at the start, with a 5-hour-30-minute time limit. It's a great distance for anyone who wants to experience high-mountain running on paved road, with all the logistics and atmosphere of a major trail event.

Bib transfers between participants are not permitted; ownership changes are not offered by the organization. Registration is non-refundable unless optional cancellation insurance was purchased at signup (refund request deadline: July 20, 2026, by email). Deferral to future editions is not permitted.
