About the race
Green hills, village paths and the Nalón valley below: the Oro Trail Race Laviana is a fast, demanding mountain race that starts and finishes in the town hall square of Pola de Laviana. It combines the character of Asturian trail running with a good cause, as it is organised together with the Alto Nalón Red Cross, and every entry includes a ticket for the Red Cross gold prize draw. General information: - Expected date: Sunday 2027-05-09. This is the date shown on race calendars, but official confirmation is pending; the last edition was on 2026-05-10. - Format: Speed Trail of about 14.4 km with about 800 m of elevation gain and 800 m of descent. - Start and finish: town hall square, Pola de Laviana. In the previous edition the start was at 10:30. - Time limit: 3 hours 30 minutes. - Places: 350 across all races. - Minimum age: 15, with a signed authorisation for under-18s. - Organisers: Asociación Deportiva Fesoria Events, with Laviana Town Council and the Alto Nalón Red Cross. Why it is special: - It is a short but intense trail, perfect for running fast in the Asturian mountains. - It has a charitable purpose: the race supports the Alto Nalón Red Cross. - In the previous edition it awarded Asturian Championship titles in the under-17, under-19 and under-21 categories. - There is a pairs category, men's, women's and mixed, where both runners must finish less than 5 seconds apart. - The start and finish in the centre of Pola de Laviana create a lively village atmosphere. Course: about 14.4 km through the hills around Pola de Laviana, with about 800 m of climbing and the same of descent, and two aid stations whose locations are confirmed in the days before. The GPS track can be downloaded from the official website, where updated course information is also published. Timetable: in the previous edition the start was at 10:30 and the finish closed 3 h 30 min after the start, around 14:00. The organiser will confirm the 2027 times. There is no start corral by finishing time: runners line up by pace. Bibs and gear are checked before the start. Registration and prices: registration is on the official website or on empa-t. In the previous edition the prices were: - €16 for federated runners and €19 for non-federated until 20 April. - €20 and €23 until registration closed on 5 May. The non-federated price includes day insurance. Registration closes earlier if places run out. Bib pickup: in the previous edition it was on Saturday from 17:00 to 19:00 and on Sunday from 09:00 to 10:00, in the marquee next to the town hall square. You must show ID and your licence if you have one. Someone else can collect it with your documents and a signed authorisation. There is no expo, but the square has a festive atmosphere. Services: - Runner's bag with t-shirt; size is not guaranteed for last-minute entries. - A ticket for the Red Cross gold prize draw. - Liquid and solid aid on course and at the finish. - Medical assistance and rescue. - Changing rooms and showers. - Podium prizes and a final prize draw. Gear: suitable trail shoes and clothing and a cup or soft flask for the aid stations. Poles are allowed; if they do not fold, their tips must be covered and they must be carried from start to finish. Tips: the key is to pace the climbs and spare your legs on the descents. Always carry your cup and do not drop wrappers outside the aid-station bins. Bib exchange: the bib is personal and non-transferable. The rules only allow a bib change with the organiser's prior authorisation and set no deadline for a name change. There are no refunds except for justified force majeure, and no official waiting lists. Alternatives to get a bib: register early, as places are limited, and join the waiting list on Bibready with a bib alert. A bib exchange on Bibready is only possible if the organiser authorises the transfer. FAQ: - When is it? Expected on 2027-05-09; official confirmation is pending. - How long is it? About 14.4 km with 800 m of elevation gain. - What is the time limit? 3 h 30 min. - Can I use poles? Yes, with covered tips if they do not fold. - Can I transfer my bib? Only with the organiser's prior authorisation.
Oro Trail Race Laviana name change
At the Oro Trail Race Laviana the bib is personal and non-transferable; a bib transfer is only possible with the organiser's prior authorisation (the rules warn that an unauthorised transfer loses the accident insurance cover). There is no published name change deadline, so a bib exchange on Bibready is only possible if the organiser authorises it. Entries are not refunded except for duly justified force majeure, and in the previous edition entries made in the last two weeks were never refunded. There is no official waiting list (350 places); join the waiting list on Bibready by activating a bib alert for the Oro Trail Race Laviana to receive news.
