About the race

The event

White tracks among vineyards, the Júcar river set between rock walls and the quiet of La Manchuela: La Manchuela Gravel is a gravel ride that reveals one of the least known corners of Castile-La Mancha. Its 100 km route, La Clásica, starts and finishes in Casas-Ibáñez and is the most balanced option to enjoy the weekend. General information: - Date: Saturday 2027-05-22. - Start: at 08:00. - Start and finish: Casas-Ibáñez (Albacete). - Route: 100 km with about 1,400 m of elevation gain, through the Júcar valley. - Edition: 5th. - Format: non-competitive gravel ride. - Navigation: there are no markings; you must follow the GPS track the organiser sends a few days before. - Bikes: gravel or MTB. E-bikes are allowed on this route. Why it is special: - It explores the area around the Hoces del Cabriel Natural Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve since 2019. - It combines tracks, trails and back roads through the landscapes of La Manchuela, among vineyards, gorges and rivers. - There are four distances on the same weekend, from a 50 km introduction to a 360 km ultra. - La Clásica is the most balanced route in distance and climbing. Course: La Clásica covers about 100 km and 1,400 m of elevation gain through the Júcar valley (the 2026 track showed about 110 km). The courses and GPX tracks are on the official website. Timetable: in the 2027 edition, Entre Ríos (360 km) starts on Friday 21 May at 18:00; La Larga (200 km) on Saturday 22 at 07:00; La Clásica (100 km) at 08:00; and La Iniciación (50 km) at 08:30. There is no start corral by finishing time: it is a non-competitive ride. Registration and prices: registration is online on the official website (Rock the Sport platform) and closes on 2027-05-09. Prices: - Bibs 1 to 100: €55. - From bib 101: €70. Bib pickup: at the bullring in Casas-Ibáñez, on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning before the starts. Bring photo ID. A participant bag comes with the bib. There is no expo as such, but the town has a great cycling atmosphere. Services: - Event kit (jersey and bib shorts). - Participant bag. - Four aid stations on the route. - Accident and liability insurance. Gear: an approved helmet is mandatory and the bike must be in good condition. Carry water, food, spares and a charged phone. Tips: Check your tyre pressure for the gravel sections and download the track in time. Roads are open to traffic, so follow the traffic rules. Getting there: Casas-Ibáñez is in the La Manchuela area, in the north-east of the province of Albacete, close to the borders with Valencia and Cuenca. The easiest way to get there is by car. If you are coming from far away, it is worth booking accommodation in the area.
