About the race

The event

The mountains of Alto Aller, high mountain passes and the atmosphere of the mining valleys: the Asturias Challenge Felechosa takes this cyclosportive circuit to the municipality of Aller, in the heart of the Cantabrian range. It is a stage for climbers, with timed climbs on the key ascents and Gran Fondo sections to enjoy the scenery. General information: - Date: Sunday 2027-06-20, within the 19 and 20 June weekend. - Start: scheduled at 09:00 from Felechosa (Aller). - Route: in the previous edition, about 102 km. The organiser will confirm the 2027 route. - Format: a cyclosportive in the Asturias Challenge, combining Gran Fondo sections with timed climbs at key points of the route. - Timed climbs: to be confirmed with the 2027 route. - Circuit: the Asturias Challenge is a multi-stage circuit across Asturias, with an overall ranking. Why it is special: - Its format is different: between timed climbs you ride at Gran Fondo pace, and the ranking comes from the timed sections. - It lets you enjoy Asturian mountain roads with the atmosphere of a circuit with a loyal following. - In the previous edition the Aller stage finished at Cotobello, a demanding high mountain climb. - At the end of the day there is a trophy ceremony and prize draw. Course: In the previous edition the Aller stage covered about 102 km and finished at the Cotobello climb. For 2027 the start is in Felechosa and the organiser will confirm the route. The courses, profiles and tracks are published on the official website and the registration platform. Timetable: in the previous edition the programme was: - Saturday: bib pickup from 16:00 to 20:00 at Felechosa. - Race day: bib pickup from 07:30 to 08:30 and start at 09:00. - 17:00: trophy ceremony and prize draw. The 2027 times are pending confirmation; we use the other stages as a reference. No start corral by finishing time has been published. Registration and prices: registration is online on the platform linked from asturiaschallenge.es. 2027 prices and the closing date will be published there; in this listing we use the day before the event as the deadline. Bib pickup: it takes place at Felechosa the evening before and on the morning of the event, according to the previous edition's times. Bring ID and your federation licence if you have one. There is no expo as such, but the town has a great cycling atmosphere that weekend. Services: - Timing of the timed climbs. - Aid stations on the route. - Trophy ceremony and prize draw. - Overall circuit ranking. Tips: Save energy for the end: the Aller climbs are long and demanding. Carry spares and warm clothing: the weather changes fast in the Asturian mountains. The circuit in 2027: the Asturias Challenge will visit Pravia on 2027-05-15, Felechosa on the 19 and 20 June weekend and Somiedo on 2027-07-10, among other stages. Each event counts towards the overall ranking, so many riders sign up for several to aim for the circuit podium or simply to discover different parts of Asturias. Getting there: the easiest option is by car, arriving early to park and collect your bib. If you are coming from further away, it is worth booking accommodation in the area the night before. Bib change: the rules are published on the registration platform. Check there whether a name change is allowed and under what conditions before agreeing anything.
