About the race

The event

Volcanic landscapes, Canary pine forests and the atmosphere of Tenerife's great cyclosportive over a more accessible distance: the Tour of Teide 86K, the MediofondoVT, offers about 86 km and 1,700 m of climbing for riders who want to experience the event without tackling the GranFondo. General information: - Date: Saturday 2027-05-15. - Edition: 2026 was the 9th, so 2027 would be the 10th. - Route: 86 km with about 1,700 m of elevation gain. - Finish: Puerto de la Cruz. The start point will be confirmed on the official website. - Format: GranFondo cyclosportive, recognised by the UCI. - Organiser: Club Deportivo 7RAID, supported by Deportes Tenerife (Cabildo de Tenerife). - Routes: 182 km GranFondo, 86 km MediofondoVT and 64 km FondoCortoVT. Why it is special: - It climbs into Teide National Park, with Spain's highest volcano as a backdrop. - It is one of the leading cyclosportives in the Canary Islands and attracts riders from several countries. - The MediofondoVT is a middle option to enjoy the atmosphere of the event. - It can be followed live, with results and streaming. Course: The MediofondoVT covers about 86 km and 1,700 m of elevation gain, finishing in Puerto de la Cruz. The courses, profiles and tracks are on the official website. Timetable: the organiser will publish the 2027 start times on the website. In the previous edition Saturday bib pickup started at 06:00 in Puerto de la Cruz, so the start is early. No start corral by finishing time has been published. Registration and prices: registration is online on the official website, where 2027 prices will be published. If you do not have a federation licence, you must buy the day insurance when registering: it cannot be bought on Saturday and without insurance you cannot take part. In this listing we use the day before the event as the deadline. Bib pickup: in the previous edition it was at the Lago Martiánez area in Puerto de la Cruz, on Friday from 11:00 to 14:00 and 16:00 to 20:00, and on Saturday from 06:00 to 06:30. On Saturday there were also pickup points in Santiago del Teide and Buenavista del Norte. Bring ID and your licence if federated. Someone else can collect it with a signed authorisation. The rider bag is handed out at the cloakroom at the finish. There is no expo as such. Services: - Aid stations on the route. - Cloakroom at the finish, where the rider bag is handed out. - Official race photos. - Live results and streaming. - Safety with Ángeles Verdes, Red Cross and civil protection groups. - Official accommodation and bike rental. Tips: Check the start point and time of your route before travelling. On Teide the air is thinner and the weather can change fast: carry warm clothing for the descents. Getting there: Puerto de la Cruz is in the north of Tenerife, about 30 minutes from Tenerife North airport. If you are coming from elsewhere, check the official hotels and bike rental service. Bib change: the rules are published as a PDF on the official website. Check there whether a name change is allowed and under what conditions before agreeing anything. Alternatives to get a bib: register early and join the waiting list on Bibready with a bib alert. No official waiting lists have been published. If the organiser allows a change of holder, a bib exchange on Bibready helps you find a replacement. FAQ: - When is it? On 2027-05-15. - How long is it? 86 km with about 1,700 m of climbing. - Where does it finish? In Puerto de la Cruz. - Do I need a licence?
