About the race
A mountain day among terraces, stone barns and villages of the Aragonese Pyrenees: the Trail Las Graderas de Valle Vió 28K follows the centuries-old paths of the Valle de Vió, at the gates of Ordesa. With more than 2,300 m of elevation gain, it is a demanding and beautiful trail for discovering one of the most authentic corners of Sobrarbe. General information: - Expected date: Saturday 2027-05-15. The 8th edition was held on Saturday 2026-05-16, so 2027 would be the 9th. Official confirmation is pending. - Location: Buerba, in the Valle de Vió (Fanlo, Sobrarbe, Huesca). - Distance: 28 km with 2,311 m of elevation gain and 2,175 m of descent. - Start and finish: Buerba, with different locations and times depending on the distance; start times have not yet been published. - Time limit: the race closed at 19:00 in the previous edition. - Places: 120 across all distances, in order of payment. - Minimum age: 18, or minors with parental authorisation. - Organiser: the "O Cascabillo" cultural association. The race follows FEDME rules. Why it is special: - It was created to preserve the centuries-old paths linking the villages of the Valle de Vió and to showcase this little-known valley of the Aragonese Pyrenees. - The valley lies next to the Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park, with spectacular high-mountain scenery. - It is a small, family-style race, with a post-race meal for all participants. - At 28 km with over 2,300 m of climbing, it is a serious trail short of ultra distance. Course: It covers 28 km with 2,311 m of elevation gain and 2,175 m of descent, on paths, trails and tracks linking several villages of the Valle de Vió. The course is marked with brightly coloured plastic tape and passing every checkpoint is mandatory. The courses, itineraries and profiles are on the official website. Timetable: in the previous edition the race closed at 19:00. The organiser publishes the start times for each distance before the race. The organiser will confirm the 2027 start times. There is no start corral by finishing time: it is a mass start. Registration and prices: registration is on Cronolimits or the organiser's website. In the previous edition it opened on 1 January and closed on 2 May, and the price was €45. It included entry, insurance, a runner's bag, aid stations, a post-race meal and gifts. 2027 prices are still to be published. Bib pickup: the organiser will announce the place and times, most likely in Buerba on race day. There is no expo, but the valley enjoys a great mountain atmosphere throughout the day.
