About the race
From the stone village of Villaluenga del Rosario, one of the highest in Cádiz, to Prado del Rey, the Maratón Bandolera crosses the heart of the Sierra de Grazalema along the old routes of the Andalusian bandits, in the fourteenth edition of the Sierras del Bandolero. The 40 km course climbs 1,225 metres and descends 1,680 metres through limestone landscapes, pinsapo forests and mountain passes, a demanding and spectacular mountain marathon. The race starts at 07:30 on Saturday 2027-03-06, with 3 aid stations and a time limit of 6 hours 30 minutes, and the organisers offer a shared-cost bus to the start for runners who request it. Finishers receive a diploma, with showers and a rest area at the finish, places are limited to 500 federated runners, and participants must be at least 21 years old.
Maratón Bandolera name change
Bib transfers and race changes are not allowed under any circumstances. Refunds must be requested in writing to [email protected] (phone or WhatsApp requests are not accepted), with bank fees deducted: 80% until 2026-12-31, 40% from 2027-01-01 to 2027-01-31, and no refund from 2027-02-01. There is no refund if the organisers cancel or suspend the race due to weather, an orange alert, health or administrative reasons.
