About the race
Under the arches of the Los Milagros Aqueduct, one of the great Roman monuments of Mérida, the Millas Romanas sets off on a 100 km night-and-day journey through the dehesas, villages and old roads of Extremadura, now in its twenty-eighth edition. The course climbs around 1,580 metres as it passes through El Carrascalejo, Aljucén, Carmonita, Alcuéscar, Trujillanos and the Roman reservoir of Proserpina before returning to Mérida, with the most demanding sections between km 38 and 62 and around km 80. The endurance format starts at 21:00 on Friday 2027-03-12 and can be completed running or walking, individually or in teams, with 14 aid stations and a time limit of 24 hours. Every finisher receives El Miliario, a replica of a Roman milestone engraved with the number of editions completed, the entry includes an official technical t-shirt, and the race is broadcast live on YouTube.
