About the race
Pine-covered slopes, rocky ridges and sweeping views over the Costa del Sol and the Mediterranean set the scene for the Trail Cañada del Lobo, a mountain race in the hills behind Torremolinos that opens the Málaga Provincial Mountain Running Cup. The 21 km course climbs around 1,200 metres through the trails of the Sierra de Torremolinos and the Cañada del Lobo, a demanding and scenic route just minutes from the beach. The race starts and finishes at the Ricardo Jiménez covered track on Avenida San Antón, and places are limited to 700 federated mountain runners across both distances. It also counts towards the Torremolinos Total Challenge, a series that brings together the town's main sporting events.

Until 2027-01-31, runners can cancel their registration and transfer their place to another person by providing that person's name, ID number and email. From 2027-02-01 no transfers, bib changes or race changes are allowed (switching from the marathon to the half is only possible if places remain). Cancellations until 2027-01-31 are refunded at 60% of the fee; there are no refunds from 2027-02-01. If the race is cancelled before the start for reasons beyond the organisers' control, 30% of the fee is refunded.
