About the race
On a Sunday in November, Barcelona becomes a sea of pink. Tens of thousands of women fill the city's streets with the official T-shirt, music, smiles and a desire to share for the Carrera de la Mujer Barcelona, the city's great celebration of women's sport. Mothers, daughters, grandmothers, sisters, friends and colleagues run and walk together on a morning full of energy, emotion and solidarity.Europe's biggest women's sporting eventThe Carrera de la Mujer was born in 2004 and has since brought together more than 1.6 million participants, making it the largest women's sporting event in Europe. Its aim is to encourage women of all ages to take up sport, to support cancer research and to raise awareness of the fight against gender-based violence and social inequality. In Barcelona it is organised by Sport Life Ibérica with the support of Barcelona City Council, and in 2026 it welcomes up to 35,000 participants, one of the largest fields in the city.A new course through BarcelonaThe 2026 edition debuts a new course of about 7.5 kilometres through the streets of Barcelona, starting at 9:00. It is a race for everyone: you can run the whole way, mix running and walking, or walk the course. New this year are start corrals for those running from start to finish, with three paces: under 5, under 6 and under 7 minutes per kilometre. Each pace has a different-coloured bib, making the start smoother and more comfortable for everyone.A race to shareAll women aged 8 and over can take part. As well as individual age categories, from age 8 up to veterans aged 75 and over, the race celebrates family and friendship with categories such as mothers, grandmothers, great-grandmothers, mother and daughter, three sisters, grandmother, mother and granddaughter, mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, two or three friends, work colleagues, gyms, schools and women's associations. There are also categories for women with disabilities and wheelchair participants, with trophies for the top three in each. What your entry includesRegistration includes the official Oysho "Pink Tide" technical T-shirt, a bib with timing chip and a runner's bag with gifts from the sponsors. The chip is built into the bib, so there is nothing to collect or return. On race day there is a bag drop on the Arc de Triomf esplanade from 8:00 to 12:00, plus ambulances and specialist medical services along the course, at the start and at the finish. Afterwards you can check the results and download your official video and diploma from the race website. The Runner's ExpoBibs, T-shirts and bags are collected at the Runner's Expo, at the La Mar Bella Sports Hall, on Friday 20 November from 10:00 to 20:00 and Saturday 21 from 10:00 to 19:00. Registration is also available at the Expo while places remain. TMB is the race's official transport partner, and the organisers recommend using public transport.Much more than a raceThe Carrera de la Mujer Barcelona is also enjoyed before and after the finish line, with workshops, activities and training sessions to prepare for the event, and a festive atmosphere where music and drumming keep participants going.Running for a causeEvery entry supports the projects of the race's beneficiary organisations, such as the Spanish Association Against Cancer, GEICAM, Pulseras Rosas and the Clara Campoamor Association. There are also 50 fully charitable bibs supporting the Ca l'Aurèlia Women's Association and 100 fully charitable bibs supporting Special Olympics.RegistrationRegistration is open until Thursday 19 November 2026 or until the 35,000 bibs sell out. Entry costs €14.95 (VAT and booking fee included), rising to €16.95 from 13 to 19 November. Groups of 15 or more women can register together by contacting the organisers.Run, walk, laugh and share: the Carrera de la Mujer Barcelona is the best way to join the pink tide and prove that, together, we go further.
