About the race

The event

Race registration for the Vodafone 10K is the most accessible entry point into Lisbon's big running weekend: a race integrated into the EDP Lisbon Half Marathon event, sharing its start, regulations, and much of the initial course, but designed for those who prefer a shorter distance without giving up the same spectacular experience. The 2027 edition takes place on Sunday, March 7th, starting at 10:15 am from the toll booth on the 25 de Abril Bridge, on the south bank, with a field of 9,500 participants. It's one of Portugal's most beloved and popular races, with a unique point of pride: it has been run by prime ministers, mayors, and other notable figures in the country, which gives a sense of its broad, festive character, far removed from purely competitive pressure. The course lets runners cross the iconic 25 de Abril Bridge on foot — normally reserved for traffic — continuing along the highway for about 2.5 km before turning toward the port. Upon reaching João de Oliveira Miguens road, only 3 km remain, on perfectly flat terrain, ideal for chasing a new personal best. The final stretch skirts the edge of the Belém district, with the Monument to the Discoveries visible in the distance, before finishing — just like the Half Marathon — at Praça do Império, facing the Jerónimos Monastery, with the Tagus flowing into the Atlantic as a backdrop.Access to the start is exclusively via Fertagus train to Pragal station — there's no alternative from either bank — with the gun set for 10:05 am and trains stopping from 9:10 am, so arriving with plenty of margin and not relying on the last train is strongly advised. Bib and kit pickup takes place at the Centro de Congressos de Lisboa on March 4th, 5th, and 6th, from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm, by presenting the registration confirmation sent by email; the kit includes a technical t-shirt, bib with timing chip, and individual gear bag, though, as with the Half Marathon, there's no gear-check service for runners at this distance.Along the course there are aid stations with water, sports drinks, and fruit from km 5 and every 2.5 km after that, plus 4 pacers at different paces — including a walking group — designed so every runner finds their ideal company. And if at some point you realize you have more in the tank than you thought, there's the option to switch distances: moving from the Vodafone 10K up to the Half Marathon is possible by paying the fee difference, an unusual flexibility that makes this race a perfect choice both for someone chasing their first 10K in a dream setting and for those using it as training or a warm-up before bigger challenges.
