About the race
The Toledo Half Marathon blends history, rhythm, and a course that is as spectacular as it is demanding. The start in the heart of the historic center forces runners to stay smart: short but intense climbs, narrow streets, cobblestones, and an incredible atmosphere. It’s a beautiful area, but not the place to chase pace — it’s a moment to enjoy the surroundings and the energy of the crowd. After passing landmarks such as the Mosque of Cristo de la Luz, Zocodover Square, and San Juan de los Reyes, one of the most iconic moments arrives: crossing the San Martín Bridge, perfect for photos and for runners who appreciate Toledo’s monumental charm. From there, the course opens toward the banks of the Tagus River and becomes the fastest section of the entire race, ideal for settling into pace and compensating for the early effort. The second half raises the difficulty again. The passage over Puente de la Cava and Puente Peraleda marks the beginning of a phase where accumulated fatigue becomes noticeable. The final kilometers are tough, with rolling hills and a progressive return toward the city that demands good effort management. It’s a challenging finish — one that stays with you. Running alongside the half marathon is the 10K Ciudad de Toledo, sharing part of the route and the same festive atmosphere. Registration is online and follows a tiered pricing system based on date and number of participants. The Half Marathon offers bibs starting at €19 in the first tier, then €22 and €25 in the following ones. The 10K starts at €16, rises to €19, and ends at €23 in the final tier. Clubs with at least 10 runners benefit from reduced rates: €14 for the 10K and €16 for the half. The organization sets a maximum of 2000 bibs across both distances, and registration is personal and non-transferable, with no changes or refunds allowed. Overall, it’s an ideal race for runners seeking an authentic experience: history, monuments, river views, and a varied course that blends technique, speed, and a demanding finish. It’s not a race for a personal best, but it is one of the most memorable events on the calendar.
