About the race
Race registration for Mimosa Pela Vida opens the door each year to something bigger than a simple 5K: every bib sold becomes a small contribution to the fight against breast cancer, since all proceeds go to the Portuguese League Against Cancer. It's one of the most heartfelt dates on Lisbon's sporting calendar, a morning where sport, solidarity, and collective emotion blend into a single course. The 2026 edition takes place on Sunday, May 17th, starting at 10:30 am, and brings together up to 15,000 participants in an event open to anyone aged 8 and over — perfect to join as a family, with friends, or as a couple. The route itself is a gift: it starts in Santos, next to the "Kais" restaurant on the banks of the Tagus, and heads toward Belém along Rua Cintura do Porto de Lisboa, passing under the Av. Infante Santo viaduct and continuing along Av. Brasília to the area known as "Vela Latina." The finish line sits at Belém Tower, one of Lisbon's most photographed landmarks and a UNESCO World Heritage Site — a symbolic, visually striking ending for a race that blends sport, city, and social cause with every stride.Getting your bib for Mimosa Pela Vida is simple: registration is handled online, and bib and kit pickup takes place on Saturday, May 16th, from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm, at the Centro de Congressos de Lisboa, by presenting the registration confirmation sent by email. The kit includes an official t-shirt (5 sizes, subject to availability), bib, individual gear bag, and sponsor gifts — including recovery refreshments past the finish line. It's not a standard timed event: only the Elite categories and teams registered for collective prizes, such as the heartwarming "Vodafone Mother and Daughter" or "Three Friends," carry a timing chip. Everyone else takes part freely, with no pressure over pace or time, with the sole purpose of crossing the line for a good cause. The atmosphere is one of the day's biggest draws: thousands of women — as well as men, couples, and entire families — dressed in pink, filling the banks of the Tagus with color and positive energy. There's an aid station at km 2.5, medical assistance along the entire course and at the finish, and free public transport for participants from 7:00 am by showing their bib, plus free shuttles from the finish to the start between 7:00 and 9:00 am. Taking part in Mimosa Pela Vida isn't just about running or walking 5K along Lisbon's most beautiful riverside: it's about joining thousands of people, shoulder to shoulder, for a cause that touches so many families closely, and experiencing it with all the energy, music, and emotion of a day that goes far beyond sport.
