Malaga Half Marathon 2026

The Malaga Half Marathon shares its start with the marathon at Paseo del Parque, but its route is essentially an out-and-back along the Malaga coastline: after leaving the park and navigating a couple of early turns, the course heads almost entirely toward the seafront promenade, with the Mediterranean in view the whole way. It passes through La Malagueta, the Cruise Terminal (also the bib pickup point), Paseo Marítimo Ciudad de Melilla and Paseo Marítimo Pablo Ruiz Picasso, with the old Los Guindos lead-factory chimney — locally nicknamed the "Torre Mónica" — as a visual landmark around the midpoint.It's a very flat course (roughly 98% flat), run on wide roads, ideal for chasing a personal best, in the same spirit as other fast Spanish half marathons (Seville, Valencia, Barcelona). The one real variable is, once again, wind along the seafront, since it's a fully open, exposed stretch. The finish line sits on Avenida Cánovas del Castillo, at the height of La Malagueta bullring, with a final straight capped by a short rise before the last sprint.Overall, while less monumental than the marathon (which loops through the historic center in its closing kilometers), it's a very rewarding race thanks to its seaside character and flat profile.Bib collectionAs with the marathon, bibs can only be collected at the Marathon Expo at the Malaga Cruise Terminal, by presenting your registration confirmation and an official ID document. No bibs are issued on race day. The bib includes a disposable timing chip and must be worn visibly and unaltered throughout the race. Registration is personal and non-transferable.RegistrationThe registration window matches the marathon's: from December 30, 2025 to Monday, November 2, 2026 at 8:00 pm, or until the 12,000 bibs allotted to this distance sell out. Registration is online only, through the official website, with an optional cancellation insurance (partial or full refund, or deferral to 2027) available if requested before October 15. Outside of that option, no refund or transfer is permitted.
