Urolako Trena Maratoia Zumarraga-Azpeitia 2027

The green Urola valley and the route of its historic railway set the scene for the Urolako Trena Maratoia Zumarraga-Azpeitia, a half marathon that celebrates the train that once linked the villages of inland Gipuzkoa. The 21.097 km course runs along the Urola greenway, the former railway line now used by walkers, cyclists and runners, from Zumarraga to Azpeitia, on a gently descending profile that makes it one of the fastest half-marathon routes around. The race starts at 11:00 on Sunday 21 February 2027, coinciding with the 101st anniversary of the railway's opening and with celebrations and entertainment for runners, families and supporters along the valley.
